The Need to Be Heard!

A friend of mine, actually, he is in my class and knows how much I love art and how it is my passion and well talent so he sends me this link of this French guy on Ted talk.  Once I clicked on the link and began watching it right away this guy starting inspiring me not because he is a French artist and that is cool on its own but because he started out doing simple stuff and he understood that he could not save the world just with what he does, to be honest no one can.  We are set in a motion that feels like it will self-destruct at any given moment.  JR. the French artist from Ted talks talks about how it may be impossible to save the world but there are ways to change it.  His way of changing the world started in the streets of Paris, he had started documenting graffiti work done by him and some friends.  He used the photo prints and made street galleries were he would put up the pictures in the subway or on a wall by the street and spray painted color around them so people would know they were not ads. That is just where he started, after that, he took it all over the world taking pictures of people and pasting their pictures on rooftops and sides of buildings and homes.  It started allowing people to be recognizable and feel important, n some small towns where no one knows about them, making them known.  It was a way of speaking to the world with out saying something just yet.  This guy inspired me because I myself want to travel the world and use art to give people a voice, tell their stories with just their pictures, make them known.  I want my studio to give local artist a chance and their own voice to the public as well.  I do not want to just speak or talk I want to be heard!
